Senate bill 8A, passed during the 2017 Special Session, created section 381.986, Florida Statutes, Medical use of Marijuana. The full text of this legislation can be found here.  Medical marijuana may be used for patient care if it is prescribed by a qualified Florida physician licensed under Chapter 459 or Chapter 458, Florida Statutes, in a manner that is consistent with the standard of care.
