Updated Florida Medical Marijuana Course for MMTC Medical Directors

Posted in Latest News on January 5, 2018.

On January 3, 2018, the Florida Medical Association and Florida Osteopathic Medical Association issued an updated 2-credit course titled Florida Medical Marijuana Course for MMTC Medical Directors. This course addresses the current laws and rules that govern Medical Directors for Florida Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers (MMTCs). Allopathic and Osteopathic physicians who choose to serve in this capacity are required to complete this course and pass the post-test during each licensure term.

If your license is up for renewal on January 31, 2018, you will need to complete the updated course by that date. If you wait until after your renewal date, you will be out of compliance with Florida law. Already qualified Medical Directors who met the education requirement before January 3, 2018, must also successfully complete this course no later than your next renewal cycle to maintain compliance with Florida law as a Medical Director.

What should you do if you plan to continue to be a Medical Director for a Florida MMTC:

  1. Take the Florida Medical Marijuana Course for MMTC Medical Directors as soon as possible. Please visit https://flmedical.inreachce.com/ to sign up for the course.
  2. Self-report the completion of the course to CEBroker at https://www.cebroker.com/to avoid a lapse in your access to the registry.
