Physician Appointed to Board of Medicine

H. VilaOn October 19, 2016, Governor Scott appointed Hector Vila, M.D. to the Board of Medicine with a term ending October 31, 2018. He filled a vacant position previously held by Nabil El Sanadi, M.D.

Dr. Vila, originally licensed in Florida in 1991, is a founding partner and vice president of Pediatric Dental Anesthesiology Associates and currently practices in Tampa. He received his medical degree from the Louisiana State University College of Medicine and is board certified in anesthesiology.

Dr. Vila participated when the Board began rulemaking on Rule 64B8-9.009, F.A.C. – Standards for Office Surgery and he continues to focus on patient safety and standards. He has also served as an expert and as an office surgery inspector for the Department of Health.

The Board of Medicine welcomes Dr. Vila!
