PRACTICE ALERT- Office Surgery Rule Changes

Recently, the Joint Boards of Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine Office Surgery Subcommittee made certain changes to Rule 64B8-9.009, F.A.C. (Medical version) and Rule 64B15-14.007, F.A.C. (Osteopathic version).

The Committee determined that the rule regarding the standard of care for office surgery needed updating to:

  • Clarify the various levels of office surgery
  • Update anesthesia monitoring guidelines
  • Clarify training requirements
  • Clarify and update required equipment and supplies
